10 Points to Plantronics SA & Skypephones.co.za
In the quest for gadgets and all things geeky, I decided to splash out and get a bluetooth Skype headset. So I dropped by Skypephones.co.za and ordered a Plantronics headset. Once I’d received it, I promptly went out and bought a Gigabyte Bluetooth Dongle to pair with my funky new headset.
There began a frustrating few hours of trying to pair and maintain a connection between the dongle and the headset. Nothing seemed to work. I manged to make a call or two, but not without hassle as the connection just couldn’t seem to hold on and the call was continually dropped.
Eventually I’d had enough so I contacted Ryan @ Skypephones.co.za and he organized with Plantronics to come and collect my headset and have it checked out… That was two weeks ago. The headset seemed to be fine, but nothing seemed to make sense and it was all a bit confusing…
Today however, I get a call from Delaney de Bruin, Service Center Manager at Plantronics. Without me asking, they offered to send my headset back to me, along with a free Plantronics Bluetooth USB Dongle and all the necessary software for a fresh install. It’ll all be couriered to me and followed up with phone calls to ensure its 100% working etc.
A parcel will be delivered to Mark on Monday which will include the 510 headset, charger, Plantronics USB dongle and a CD with the latest Persono Call software.
I will contact Mark on Monday afternoon to confirm delivery and enquire if he requires any technical assistance and to ensure that the unit is working 100%.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused during the time that Mark has not had the use of his Voyager 510. I trust that the above is in order.
Now THATS good service. What a good start to the weekend.
