So far, so good…
Yup.. thats how its going here in the US. Working my hiney off until all ungodly hours of the night, but its all worth it. The exploration and adventuring through the streets of Arizona make it all worthwhile. One thing has become clear to me over here. The Americans are spoilt for choice. Pure and simple. In almost every aspect of their day to day life, they are spoilt for choice. Food There's easily 50 DIFFERENT fast food joints within a 10km radius of ...

Blind leading the blind
It was October and the Indians on a remote reservation asked their new Chief if the coming winter was going to be cold or mild. Since he was a Chief in a modern society he had never been taught the old secrets. When he looked at the sky he couldn't tell what the winter was going to be like. Nevertheless, to be on the safe side he told his tribe that the winter was indeed going to be cold and that ...

McNaught Comet over Cape Town - Images
Cape Town suffered from stiff necks over the weekend as the majority of the city stared upwards at McNaught's Comet. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to watch an amazingly bright comet fly above was captured on photo by some astute photographers in the City Bowl. So here you go: photos of McNaughts Comet flying over Cape Town:...

Wow, Wordpress 2.1!
I've often said, that if Wordpress could bear my children, I'd be married to it. (just joking Nicole :)) Well today I installed Wordpress 2.1 and holy cow, its rocking. So many little features that just make the whole package so much more impressive as a CMS and Blog. Many awesome plugins (Static Front Page, Upload Manager) have been integrated into Wordpress 2.1 now. One of my favorites so far is the ability to swop between the Rich Editor and Code ...

Well howdy y’all!!
Guess where I am... Yup, Texas. Second night in, and I gotta be honest, its everything its cracked up to be. As you get off the plane at Dallas Love Field airport, its just country music and Texan hats everywhere you look. The people are really friendly and even though it was like 0'C and raining, everyone had a warm smile and if you got within earshot of an airport attendant, you usually got a "How ya'll doin' t'day?"...

How to get rid of a chatty person on the airplane
On my flight from Chicago to Phoenix, I was as tired as hell. I'd been plane hopping for the last 24 hours and I was not in the mood or frame of mind to chat. Murphy's law I end up sitting next to the chatty guy. It was fine for the first while, but then I realized that he really had a lot to say. We chatted about cars and work and America, but finally I was getting tired and ...

What I’ve noticed so far in America
The client that I'm staying with in Arizona currently, mentioned whilst he was in SA, that he reckons SA isn't that far off from being a 1st world country. Hmm... Well I must be honest. I don't think I agree. I've been here for less than a week now, and everyday I see indications of how far South Africa still has to go to be recognized as a 1st world country. Granted we have beauty that many other country's don't ...

Jeep Waterfall
This is a pretty cool invention that combines the fleeting nature of falling water and inkjet type rendering technology. This is a waterfall that was put together using a whole bunch of valves linked to an image rendering computer system. Basically, the image rendering system scans an image and then translates that in much the same way an inkjet printer would print out an image. Only difference is, is that the inkjet printer ...

Holy Crap! I’m in America!
Yup, how about them apples... I've been in America for all of about 4 days now. I'm staying with a client in Arizona, Scottsdale to be exact. Its a beautiful area - loads of mountains and generally stunning scenery. There's just so much to see here. I'm amazed more and more everyday how big this place is and how much there is to do. I arrived on Saturday evening, after a gruelling, less than comfortable 25ish hour flight. PE to Jozi - ...
