Black Eyed Peas
It is just me, or do the Black Eyed Peas totally rock? … I mean rap…or is it hip… I dunno, but they continue to make really wikkid tunes.
I mean, their first album, ‘Elephunk’…damn… How cool was that? I can dig the vibe of shirtless niggaz and wiggaz cussing about their ho’s and sharing their lust for more bling, but come on.. enough already!
BEP’s go beyond that. They make music, and dare I say they’re damn good at it to. Original tunes, samples, lyrics…they’re the whole package.

It’s just you! The Black Eyed Peas might hip or hop, but they don’t rock! In fact how dare you use the sacred adjective in the same sentence as their foul name?! And as for ho’s and bling … I’d rather lick the sweat off Dan Fisher’s guitar strap! It should be about the music man!

perhaps save a little money on your Bravery CD and go for some reading lessons first…
i commented how tradition hip hop focusses on bling ho’s and ho blings etc etc, but how different from that BEP’s are.
much better than the cliche’d stereotypical hiphop tunes…

“Bob your head like epilepsy, up inside your club or in your bentley.” - This clear appreciation for all things bling is quoted from their deep and intellectual track, “Let’s Get Retarded”. That’s right. And then there’s the mandatory rate-yourself line: “In this context, there’s no disrespect, so, when I bust my rhyme, you break your necks.” Not only grammatically suicidal, but blatantly self-centred and lacking in ANY artistic endevour. You’re right. These guys are different. No cliches here. What do you guys think?

all i’m saying is they’ve got good tunes, not cliched…or perhaps not as cliched as others have been before, and i dig ‘em.
