A gun at my window was a man at my door
How-dee folks! Yikes! It's been an age since I last wrote on the Llama! It's been a real tough 4 weeks at work with levels of frustration touching the exosphere! To give you an indiction of just how bad it gets, my assistant was hospitalized for severe depression brought on by stress. Sure, it's not all about the work but it does break down ones resolve to deal with other issues in life. Why am I babbling on about this...? Well, I left ...

Interviews = curse word
Aside from childbirth, I think the most (emotionally) stressfull things in life are doing a drivers license test and interviews. The very word makes my stomach churn. Not only is it intimidating but all the excuses that you have to come up with to get time off from your current job to seek other employment is nerve-wrecking. Well for me anyhow. I always have this strange fear that people can tell when I'm lying. That's ...

PHP Random Image Generator
With all my designs, I go to great lengths to ensure total validation - either XHTML1 Transitional, or XHTML1 Strict. Handcrafted Webs was my last coded project. A very simple site, but done in XHTML1 Strict. Problem came in when I wanted to have different images on each of the internal pages. In the past I've used a javascript random image code, but it doesn't validate for a bunch of reasons too many to work through. The clever lads at ...

A Rottweiler named Mathilda…
Have you ever noticed that people with Rotweilers always seem to give them the most ridiculous pansy-ass names? I've heard - Mathilda, Tessa, Aggie, Tink and a whole bunch others that my logic and reason just block out. What the hell is up with that? If you have a Rotty or know someone with a Rotty that has a name not to dissimilar from you grandmother than please share an explanation coz you're freakin me out. While we're at it ...

iJeaNS…. RAD
Levi Strauss announced their partnership with Apple at the beginning of the year, and everyone's been anxiously awaiting the end result of the so-called Levi's Redwire DLX Jeans. Finally the wait is over! As you can see from the image above, the small pocket has a clickwheel to control the iPod. A long red ribbon attached to the inside of a pocket, seems to work as a bungi chord to prevent accidental iPod drops to the floor, ...

Icing an injury - A thing you didn’t think you never knew!
...So there I was minding my own business, just innocently a-grindin'-away at a muncipal buildings staircase on my little rollerblades when suddenly !!! SNAP !!!. Left knee tendons partially torn. That smarts I thought, $@#$%@%#$ I said. So I went for assistance to the medi-clinic. At the hospital, after twisting my little leg hither and thither like a sinewy peice of biltong the doctor gave me a thumbs up and said "put an ice-pack on that"... "Tendons are torn..." ...

How far do you take customer service?
Just about every job on the market nowadays, regardless of industry or sector, will require you to be involved in customer service in some form or another. Maybe you're dealing one-on-one with a customer, or you're answering the phone between oil changes.... at some point, you're going to have to deal with the people who're paying you to perform a service. How do you handle these interactions? My first job was that of a waiter at a St Elmo's pizza shop. ...
