Pictures from the Billabong Pro 2006, Jeffreys Bay
Yup, its that time again, the Jeffreys Bay Billabong Pro has been happening for the last couple of weeks and the surf has been rocking so far. All the big names on the World Tour have been ripping it up and as usually, Jeffrey's bay has been inundated with surfers, surflovers, groupies, and drunk teenagers. Thanks to MaxH, we have some Billabong Pro 2006 photos from last Friday's action. If you're terribly bored and ...

Hi, my name is Mark, and I’m colorblind
Ja, ja, get the jokes over with - I'm a colorblind web designer. Laugh it up - you're all going to hell. My very caring and sensitive friend recently reminded me of the fact that I'm actually colorblind, when I happened to point out a grey wall that was actually green... grayish green. So I'm not 100% colorblind - I mean I can see when the traffic lights go ...

Ola!
Wow, it's incredible to be applying my nimble little fingers to the white backend of the coolest website on the internet once again. I must admit that I have missed it something chronic. How about the NEW Llama ey? It's awesome, like sinking into a warm tub of goo - naked - goo that vibrates. So if Mark'll have me, I'm back and ready to dis cool people all over the world to make up for my inadequacy. Peace outty

Eish, lets hear it for a hiatus
Hiatus: suspension, an interruption in the intensity or amount of something Ok so dang, I know... its been a while, but I got a new design thats about 70% or so done and I got loads of ideas and stuff I wanna try out in the coming months. Most of the writers on The Yellow Llama have become otherwise involved so for the next while, I'll more than likely be the only guy writing. So whats been ...

Thats what friends are for
I hate to say it, but its true - to a certain degree you get overly accustomed to your friends always being around and you forget how much they mean to you. Well this past weekend, I was given a wake-up call as to how much my friends mean to me, and how much I apparently mean to them. My house just about always has people in it. Hardly a weekend goes ...

Today, I want…
One day the world seems perfect and immaculate – the next day the drones of everyday routine begin to eat at the edges of the happy smile. And other days are today – where life is just life and work is simply that – work. And I want to tell you simply this – I want to do things – things that will make my everyday a day of immaculacy. I want to run – not away just far I want to ...

The mind is a tricky bastard
I had an epiphany the other day. Dont worry, I cleaned up afterwards. I was in the mall and I saw this guy... oh my. What a tit. He had the weirdest outfit on... baggy denims, denim shirt, and a denim cap that was pulled so low, he had to look at the roof to see what was in front of him. Now, when he got up that morning, got dressed and checked himself ...

Vimeo your video’s
So I was a bit late in joining the Flickr clan, but eventually I got on the band wagon and got flickd. Eventually, some one got the wagon moving (and I've jumped timeously onboard), for video sharing & uploading. Enter Vimeo. A wickedly beautiful design, combining a clean and easy to navigate site that has all the functionality of a swiss army knife and the ease of use of toilet paper. It's brilliant ...

Dale and Bianca, sitting in a tree…
I could make all sorts of "another one bites the dust" comments, but instead I'm just going to make a straightforward announcement. It gives me great pleasure to announce the engagement of one of The Yellow Llama's finest authors, Dale Jordaan, to his long-time girlfriend, Biana Pianese (BiziB). I was just informed (20min ago) of their engagement and I'd like to be (one of the) first to extend my congratulations ...

Poetry Scams
As some of you might or might not know, I enjoy dabbling in a bit of poetry. Nothing serious. Just some amateur stuff. A while back I found a website where I could submit my poetry, possibly win prizes and / or get published. I was pretty excited and impressed with myself when I received a letter from UK saying that I was a semi-finalist in their poetry competition and I stood to win a couple ...
