Do you still watch the news?

I don’t watch a lot of TV. I don’t have the time. But I’ve been hanging around quite a bit with a new friend and their father watches the news a lot. They got DSTV (cable), and he loves SKY news, BBC news, CNN etc etc.. and I’m sorry, but I hate the news.

10 minutes and I’m depressed already. These guys are bombing those guys. 50 People dead or injured by those guys and these guys …

George does it again.. Surprised?

You know, the first few times, it was funny, but acceptable. Then it happened a few more times and we were all like… “oh-kay… thats a bit doff…” But now, dang, its become a freggan laugh-a-minute with George Bush doing stupid stuff in front of the camera..and now, in front of the mic too.

Seriously, this guy became president of the US how…?
A microphone picked up an unaware George W Bush saying that …

No Scruf!

Here’s a question for the guys: What do you like most about the ladies? Without getting dodge, what do you enjoy about their form? Its probably not at the top of your list, but I’m sure that somewhere on that list, you’re gonna have something about their legs - smooth, shaven, silky legs. Right?

Ja, well then you’re probably not gonna be happy with a new movement known as No-Scruf - National Organization of Social …

The thing about Evolution

It’s late… I’m on the couch checking out TV2… David Attenborough is talking about the wonders of the sea bed at 3 miles below the surface. There are strange creatures crawling on the sea floor. There’s an 11 Gill Shark whose ancestry dates back millions of years… Some creatures are “marvellous by design”, others adapt and change i.e they evolve! Why and how do they evolve? So the theory basically goes that the strong traits of a species are passed …

Welcome, Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt!

Let me first say that I think this child is the luckiest child on earth. She has a mother whom most men drool over and a father which most women would leave their husbands for. If that’s not 10 points for the gene pool, then I don’t know what is! Then again, Angie’s dad, John Voight (from The Deer Hunter, Stepford Wives, etc) isn’t exactly what you’d call a hottie, but lil’ old Angie turned out all …

The Gospel of Judas

Both Christian Zealots and Dan Brown anoraks are currently frothing at the mouth, (which gives the Muslims a day off for good behaviour) over, firstly the book The Da Vinci Code and secondly the ensuing legal action taken against Dan Brown in light of alleged plagiarism from subtexts and plot thickeners nicked from the authors of Holy Blood, Holy Grail.

With killer timing, in a seemingly ironic publicity coup de tat, the National …

Shark Longliners decimate populations off SA coastline

The following extract was taken from a newsletter called Shark Bytes published by Cape Town based shark researchers Chris and Monique Fallows.

“I was unable to be on the last pelagic trip of the month on Saturday but Chris and the guests on board had a bad experience of coming across a shark longliner. The longline was in the process of being hauled in and the catch consisted of hundred’s of mako and blue sharks. Sharks are extremely successful predators …

Muslim Cartoons and human rights…

Hmmm, no way to ignore this little bit of politics…

Man, these guys get all upset about a cartoon that was printed depicting someone that is sacred to them in humourous ways. Now call it was it is, freedom of speech, human rights, blah blah blah… After the trouble started some newspapers REPRINTED THE IMAGES claiming that they have a right to :: among other things :: blasphemy…

So here’s where we gotta go back to basics. All things are lawful, but …

Green Pigs

Stem cells stem cells stem cells! A world of fun for bored scientists…

By using DNA from jellyfish scientist have been able to produce GREEN PIGS. ::SEE BELOW:: This is not photoshopped. Why do we need green pigs you may ask? Well it’s simple, because pink piggy banks are soooo last season (despite what SOME of our readers may feel) Not really, actually the Green pigs are a tool for scientists to “show the impact of experimental drugs …

Shew, bring on the heavies!

I’m not making any real statements here, I guess I’m just wanting to raise my concerns about this issue cos recently I’ve been amazed at the number of natural disasters plaguing the planet!! (2005 had the highest number of natural disasters in recorded history.) On the weekend I opened the paper and on one page there were three articles: one on the depletion of fresh water reserves, one on global warming with estimates of 20 years before irreversible climate damage …
