Coca Cola Colab Information
Monkeyboy managed to make a last minute dash to computicket and got himself tickets to the Coca Colab Massive Mix Concert. He’s made a few very important statements which I thought I’d re-itterate here for the benefit of those going to the Cape Town Concert this Saturday.
- NO REFRESHMENTS ALLOWED IN. Dont plan on bringing your own water or cooldrinks or booze. Nothing is allowed in.
- LONG QUEUES. The refreshment stands at the JHB concert were queing for up to 3 hours to get a beer. I’d suggest rushing there first thing as you get in, stock up with water & drinks for the day and avoid the queues.
- NO CAMERAS. The lucky few with camera phones are the only few who’ll be able to get footage of this epic event as no cameras are allowed inside.
- GET THERE EARLY. Most of the guys that I know are going, are practically camping outside the gates to get in early. This is also beneficial so you can organize some liquids before the masses get there. They ran out of Coke @ the Coca Cola concert in JHB… anybody else spot the irony?
Check out the band times and work out a schedule to get the best of all the bands you wanna check out. I can highly recommend the act opening the electronica stage at 6pm, Iridium Project. These guys are phenomenal. Nick Matthews, the dj, played at my farewell when I left Cape Town and the guy rocked the party. Worth a see…
There’d also been many rumors of a surprise performance by System of a Down at the Cape Town concert. I called 5fm to verify this and they said that they initially were going to perform, however there were complications which has led to a cancellation of their performance. So the band list as it stands now, is exactly how its gonna go down. No surprises (as far as we know), Metallica are performing for a full 2 hours.
Gonna be a rocking party. Good luck to those that are going. Have a wicked time. Come share your experiences here on The Yellow Llama when you get back.
