Death by fun

Yesssss, I took your base Billy. Ha ha, you’re dead Billy, you’re dead. Ha ha. Billy?

So we know that drugs are dangerous and even alcohol kills, but video games?

From SkyNews:

A South Korean man has died of exhaustion in an internet cafe after playing computer games non-stop for 49 hours, according to police. The 28-year-old, identified only by his last name, Lee, collapsed after having eaten minimally and not sleeping. He had refused to leave his keyboard while playing the battle simulation game Starcraft
Lee was quickly moved to a hospital but died after a few hours, due to what doctors presumed was a heart attack, police said.
Lee, who lived in the southern city of Taegu, had been fired from his job last month because he kept missing work to play computer games, police said.

I must admit, I have spent many a sunset to sunrise feeding this little addiction, if you haven’t played Starcraft you really wont understand the plight of Mr Lee of Korea. But it is addictive i’ll admit.

However, I like being alive and Mr Delivery and the mobile drop always kept our players well nurished and more importantly - not dead. Perhaps internet cafe’s could start instituting intravenous feeding so that their more serious players could have a great session and avoid death at the same time.

Oh wow.. thats not good! Sheesh..

I actually havea videoclip of a guy who was playing a real-life, dress-up version of dungeon’s & dragons and he ‘accidentally’ stabbed his friend in the process.

The cops came round and he ended up being shot in the leg as he tried to run away… in an open parking lot…

I think he should’ve played less D&D and more HL cos clearly, those evasion tactics left a lot to be desired :)

I just installed StarCraft: Brood Wars on my laptop, yesterday! Had a couple skirmishes (skirmi ?) for the first time in … easily 2yrs. Aah, it felt so good. But i didn’t miss the dinner call!
