You all fail. They’re using [Epic FAIL] as a noun representing each item in a series. In this case, as a title, it is grammatically used the same way one would use letters, with an apostrophe-s to make plural. For clarity, lower case is used, whereas one would normally use a capital “S,” in the following example: “There are four s’s in ‘possess.’” Thus “Epic FAIL’s” is correct usage. Above grammar police fail.

Oh yeah that ‘Um, actually’ guy is an excellent specimen of someone who’s learnt english on internet comment forums. Either that or american, same thing.
Same goes for anyone who uses the word Fail that much, whilst patently expecting the mere sight of it to render any opposing arguments invalid. It’s not like a magic spell whereby you are instantly transformed into an articulate, intelligent debater with the wherewithal to crush anybody else’s point into nothing. You just sound like a 3 year old who’s learnt a new word.

“Um, actually…” is an idiot. Apostrophes are never used to denote pluralization, not even in the case of acronyms. In addition, the “EPIC FAIL” of the title is not an acronym – ridiculously overused, often incorrect, but not an acronym. So yes, the title is incorrect in its placement of an apostrophe, and you, sir, are an idiot. Furthermore, most of these “FAIL” pictures don’t even show failures of any kind. The statue, for example, is from a professional artist that is having their art displayed in public prominently. There’s no failure involved at all – that is, by any sense of the word, a success, despite the clever placement of a single photograph. Animals humping each other is no failure, it’s just good clean fun – jealous, perhaps? This whole “FAIL” thing is just yet another retarded internet meme that you’ll all be embarrassed about in ten years (or less).

A. That kid is a protege soccer player wearing the freshest indoor-soccer shoes available.
B. That the giraffe did in fact fuck that smaller, donkey-like, mammal.
C. That those men are loading (not unloading) that Coke machine into the truck in order to replace it with a Pepsi machine.
D. That the BMX rider fucked all three of the onlookers after he successfully performed a groudbreaking flatland BMX trick.

I stand by my previous statement. Due to “epic fail” being used to represent items in a series by means of titling, using apostrophe-s to make a plural is not poor grammar.

Um, actually – why do you keep insisting that there should be an apostrophe and backing up your theory with quotes from wikipedia about acronyms and single lower case letters and other completely irrelevant instances?
If you did actually get 3 A’s then you would have the mental capacity not to contradict yourself by banging on about single letter plurals and then omit an apostrophe from “3 A’s”. Also, you would not believe wikipedia is ‘the source of all knowledge’. Anyone who thinks that has a LOT to learn about life.
Saying that, I’m not normally a ‘grammar nazi’, although it does piss me off when stupid people learn the rules of grammar from comment forums. Surely you just pick it up from reading things throughout life? It’s not difficult. Trouble is, you can’t even point out their mistakes because they don’t have a clue what you’re on about. It’s like arguing with a 3 year old about Nietzsche. You’ll obviously win but they won’t know they’ve lost because they can’t comprehend their level of incompetence. technically, the term “epic fail” itself is a fail- grammatically, specifically. It should be epic FAILURE.
@um, actually-
The problem is that the vast majority of people would not understand the group-specific “Epic Fail’s” apostrophe, and this in turn inhibits their own grammar, as they would not realise the difference.
So it’s a safer bet to use the most commonly recognised “Fails” grammar, instead of relying on the public to pick the subtle difference up. At any rate, the title was most likely a mistake.

I am amazed that this person’s grammar really upsets that many people. Does it really make that much a different whether someone misused an apostrophe or not? In a casual internet environment, it doesn’t matter to some people. If it is that important to you that a single person’s grammar is correct, you probably need professional help.

The problem is that the vast majority of people would not understand the group-specific “Epic Fail’s” apostrophe, and this in turn inhibits their own grammar, as they would not realise the difference.
So it’s a safer bet to use the most commonly recognised “Fails” grammar, instead of relying on the public to pick the subtle difference up. At any rate, the title was most likely a mistake.
Pictures are always funnier when they don’t have fail written over them.
