Hoorah for Public Holidays

If you’re a South African resident, you’ll know that April is packed full of public holidays. If you’re not in school, or are retired, then public holidays probably mean about as much as a swimsuit calendar does to Elton John. Otherwise, April is a month where if you plan it right, you can have 2 awesomely long weekends.

The holidays this year are on:

  • Friday, 6th April
  • Monday 9th April
  • Friday 27th April
  • Tuesday 1st May

Write that down.

The sneaky tip is to book leave NOW, for Tuesday April 30th. That way, you have 5 days holiday by taking only 1 day off work. Rocking.

I’ve taken the liberty of investigating some awesome weekend getaway options in Durban and the Eastern and Western Cape. I’d do Jozi, but seriously, what normal person leaves the coast and goes in land for their holiday?
