Like I do you
I woke up again this morning…
There was a river floating by my weary head
I woke to the words of a wise man
He said, “Let me tell you about life, it’s meaning is never dead.”
So he began to talk about life
Recalling his past, recalling events right up till today
He said he knew about love
But sometimes you just have to get on your knees and pray.
His words covered the prophets and the kings
Then onto something about a world wrapped within an angels wings
He took me above the world
He took me below the sea
He said, “Think about life as one and love as the bond of everything that can be…
Listen to the reflections of sound
Not one religion to be found
Not one war to wage being planned
Heaven gave us rule and we took over the land!”
Then he put an arm around me
Like he was trying to protect me
Hie eye’s on the river running by
The river still running to the sea
He asked, “Do you believe in someone? Do you believe in love?
Believe in someone, like I believe in you
Love someone, like I love you!”
He said, “I know you dream of somewhere
Of a highway going nowhere
Of a course without a cause
You feel lost without a reason
You feel like a divebomb aiming down
Trying to destroy your own creation of this divebomb fascination.”
He said, “Believe in someone, believe in love
Like I believe in you!
The wind will turn and blow for you
The woodlands will rise and the oceans will open for you!
Believe in someone
Love someone
Like I do you!”
One Response to Like I do you
“Man has dominated man to his own injury”. Humans seem to veer towards self-destruction. If we just follow direction given to us by the One who knows best, we wouldn’t suffer and feel lost.
