Mozilla Firefox v3 Alpha Released
That title pretty much wraps up the main content of this blog post.
I’ve been using Gran Paradiso for a total of about 7 minutes now and so far, not much to report. Haven’t noticed much change as yet, other than the blue logo which has replaced the red logo of the Firefox of days gone by. I’m liking the blue, although its taking a bit of getting used to when I alt-Tab to another application… I’m still instinctively looking for the red fox and I miss the new blue logo everytime :P
As I’m typing this in the RTE of WordPress, I’m noticing my text jumping a little bit.. nothing major, just a pixel or 2 occasionally. A small bug that I’m sure will be worked out soonish.
I’ve tested a few of my sites in Gran Paradiso and so far all looks good which means that the standards compliant guys over at Mozilla have done another good job.
There’s no support as yet for most themes and extensions so if you rely heavily on Firefox extensions, you might want to wait a while before jumping headfirst into Gran Paradiso.
So without much further ado, here’s the links you’ll need to get your own copy:
FTP directory (use this link if you want to download a version of Gran Paradiso other than the normal win32 version)
Firefox GranParadiso.exe File
UPDATE: Noticed that whilst Firefox v2 and below used ******* to display text in a password input field, whilst v3 now uses the bullet point looking letter replacement like you’ll see on IE…

Firefox has a very serious problem. It will not work inWindows 7 64 bit mode. I have had to go back to Internet Explorer. When will you get it fixed?????
