Do any of you use Stumbleupon? If so, how many times to you come across a blog post with 10 pages of “EPIC FAIL” pictures of a kid getting his head stuck in a chair or a woman somehow getting her car caught on a powerline. If you’re like me you have seen these before. I have never seen anyone claim thievery.

Sure, maybe “everyone else” is doing it, but is that really a good excuse for you to do it too, especially if it’s wrong? Couldn’t you at /least/ put a little line crediting totallylookslike.com in the actual post?
What irks me is that you seem like you know you were going to be unfairly taking credit from the start…after all, you /did/ take the trouble to cut out portions at the bottom, instead of just putting the re-posting the pictures as-is. You know, the little strip that both explains the comparison and credits the original website?

The reason he’s being called a thief is that he doesn’t have any references to what looks like a copy/past post. Even the websites that pull a ton of random pictures from a ton of places give credit to all respectful authors. (at least the good ones do) Especially since, by Stumbling it, we contribute to his/her ad revenues.
