Pumba Game Lodge

Well yesterday was a definate highlight in my year so far. I was shortlisted for a website deal for the Pumba Game Lodge Safari just outside of Grahamstown in the Eastern Cape, South Africa. As part of that deal, I got to do a free day safari at the game lodge and check out all the facilities they have to offer.

Pumba Game Lodge is a relatively new establishment, as game parks in South Africa go, but they are by no means sub-standard. I was really blown away by the quality of the rooms and facilities there. The Land Rover Special Vehicles that they use for the game drives are incredibly high quality, very comfortable and it makes the 2 hour game drive very enjoyable.

I’ll upload some photo’s to Flickr shortly of the animals we got to see. We were lucky enough to see a rare white lion thats involved in a breeding program to try and increase the dwindling numbers of these beautiful animal. We also saw a huge variety of South African ‘bokkies’ (bucks), like Impala, Springbok, Eland and more. A family of giraffe merrily munched bush trees and afforded us some great photos.

The actual facilities are breathtaking in design and layout. The rooms are cosy and stunningly decorated. Each ‘cabin’ has a private pool that overlooks a huge lake that is a watering hole for many animals. The food we enjoyed was delightful and chef John proved to be a marvellous cook.

The staff and hosts were impecable in service and attire and really left a great impression on all of us.

Thanks to Pumba Game Lodge for the wonderful day.

Check out the design I submitted for the game lodge.

Feel free to have your say...
