So far, so good…

Yup.. thats how its going here in the US. Working my hiney off until all ungodly hours of the night, but its all worth it. The exploration and adventuring through the streets of Arizona make it all worthwhile.

One thing has become clear to me over here. The Americans are spoilt for choice.

Pure and simple. In almost every aspect of their day to day life, they are spoilt for choice.

Food
There’s easily 50 DIFFERENT fast food joints within a 10km radius of my house. In SA, what.. we have like McD, KFC, Nando’s, Steers… Thats 4 and I’m already starting to think hard about what else there is.

Cars
In SA, if you got money, chances are you’re gonna buy a BMW, or a Mercedes. Why? Because they hold the market for top end cars for guys with cash to blow. Here in the states, theres probably 20+ car types available. I’ve probably counted a total of like maybe 5 or 6 BMW’s that I’ve seen since I got here. But there’s loads of other really beautiful cars. Anyone with money has heaps of choice when it comes to choosing a car to buy.

Telecoms
I’m really gonna try hard not to become inflamed with rage at this point… Theres loads of telecoms companies here. And they’re all fighting for your business. Which means low prices and awesome specials. Plus everythings wireless. So if you get a Verizon mobile contract, you get a wifi card free and for $59 a month, you have sickeningly fast internet wherever you have mobile reception. In SA… well you’ll know what the situation is like there.

They got the creme of the crop over here and it definately contributes to the success of the country. You can really get ANYTHING, ANYWHERE, and it’ll be there yesterday. SA could stand to learn a lot from the way things happen over here.

On a different note…

After the launch of Windows Vista last night at midnight, I took advantage of my free copy courtesy of Gateway computers. My new laptop came with a voucher for a free upgrade to Windows Vista Premium, so that’ll be arriving in the next week.

Awesome!

This weekend I’m in for a treat.

Friday I’m flying to California to go check out Six Flags theme park. Some of their rides are listed in the guiness book of records! Rocking
Saturday I’m flying to Las Vegas to check out the sites and have a little fun on the eve of the Superbowl.

I’ll take plenty pictures :D
