The Last Trick

Give me rhyme, the persistance of my desire
Rolling in hopeful glory
I saw a road benieth my feet
I saw a distance through time…

Are we lost without a reason?
Did we think we had direction
To a place that had no end?

Or were they only incorporations of perceptions
From the otherside of the mirror?
Like a reflection that lingers between thought
Like the road benieth the tar

Why do we search for what’s already found us?
Is our knowledge overcome by new reason?
Ambition?
The recreation of our desires!

It’s a confrontation of imagination
The last trick against logic
Like a win without a beat
Like a finish line without a race to meet…

Closer

Her face glistened in the sun.
Her heart that was far removed from her
…returned.

Then he tore it out of her outstretched arms.
The cavity in her chest still feels the heartbeat.
Craves the heartbeat.

His eyes,
bearing into her soul, burning her soul.
Seeing every thought and memory.
Not aware of the power he holds,
but withholding.

She drifts afloat on the turquoise sea.
And once again feels the sun, and basks in it.

Imagining
his strength, his closeness.

The two heartbeats
destined for oneness.

Realisation!

A blazen emotion
Surges through the heart
Transformation
Rising from the core of hatred
An emotion dormant,
Awakens

Like a tornado, tearing through
Organisation
Causing confusion

The eye of the storm!
Lasting only seconds.
It comes back with power
far surpassing any other.
Realisation!

Will it hurt to love?

What workings of your mind will perish?

Will the kiss graze your cheek?
Will it hurt to love?

The stream that has dammed up,
gush out and destroy your foliage?

Will nails tear deep ravines into your skin?

Will blood trickle from your ears
from the hard vibrations of the whispers?

Will it hurt to love?
