The radio station that panders to our office, 5fm and Debonnaires Pizza, had a competition today. During the day, they announce 3 or 4 branches of Debonnaires and the first 10 people to arrive at one of those branches and shout, “Its the way I like it”, win themselves 4 pizzas, 4 waffles & a 2L coke.
So when they announced the branch about 2 blocks from where I work, I raced up there and was lucky customer number 6. Shweet. Lunch sorted. A meal worth R84+ for FREE!
Until…
The restaurant is on a busy road and from 4pm to 6pm, there’s no parking allowed. Unfortunately, in my hungry dash to the pizza joint, I never noticed the sign. Murphy’s law, the “never-there-when-you-need-them” traffic police happened to be passing by and whacked me with a R300 fine.
AAAAArrrrghhh!!…
So my free pizza, ended up costing me R300 + emotional trauma.
I’ve sent a copy of my parking ticket to Sasha & Ian, the 2 DJ’s on 5fm in the hopes that they can pull some strings and make a plan for me..
