But by far the most interesting story this week :
Jean Charles de Menezes, shot by police for acting like a terrorist. But we all had so many questions didn’t we? Like why shoot a man 5 times after you already have him pinned? Would a fleeing man jump on train and corner himself like a priest with a draw full of Dragon Ball Z underpants? Why was he running anyway? Well, apparently he wasn’t. I would love to know where the previous eye-witnesses got their information confused…

A leaked police report may just bring to light that the whole thing was a terrible screw up by a cop with a weak bladder that led to death of an innocent man. Below is a list of what was first reported and then what came from the leaked report. Brazil is pretty pissied off…

Police initially said Mr de Menezes had left a flat under surveillance by anti-terrorist bombers. He was suspected of being the Shepherd’s Bush bomber Hussein Osman.

Now
Mr de Menezes lived in a different flat in the block and the surveillance officer on duty was unable to film him when he left to check his identification because he needed the toilet.

Then
Early witness accounts said the Brazilian fled armed officers by vaulting over barriers and running into the Underground.

Now
According to the leaked report Mr de Menezes walked into the station, paused to pick up a free copy of the Metro newspaper and used his Oyster card to pass through the ticket barrier.

Then
First reports said the electrician ran on to the Tube, stumbled and was shot in the head by one armed officer as he lay on the floor.

Now
The report says Mr de Menezes got on the Tube and sat down. A police officer is quoted as saying he was able to grab Mr de Menezes and pin his arms to his side before the shooting started.

Shortly after the shooting, reports said police had identified themselves to Mr de Menezes before opening fire.

Now
The leaked documents say Mr de Menezes did not know he was being followed by police until he sat down on the Tube. It is not clear if he was asked to surrender.

The 27-year-old was reported to have been wearing a thick, padded coat – which could have hidden a suicide bomb.

Now
New evidence says he was wearing only a light denim jacket.

Straight after the shooting, Scotland Yard Commissioner Sir Ian Blair said the shooting was “directly linked” to anti-terror operations.

It has now been clearly established the electrician had no connection to attempts to blow up three Underground trains and a bus in London on July 21.
