Wow, Wordpress 2.1!
I’ve often said, that if Wordpress could bear my children, I’d be married to it. (just joking Nicole :))
Well today I installed Wordpress 2.1 and holy cow, its rocking. So many little features that just make the whole package so much more impressive as a CMS and Blog. Many awesome plugins (Static Front Page, Upload Manager) have been integrated into Wordpress 2.1 now. One of my favorites so far is the ability to swop between the Rich Editor and Code view instantly:

A simple click of the tab allows you to edit the code which makes obselete, the old RTE’s HTML button. Brilliant.
Here’s a few other features:
- Autosave makes sure you never lose a post again.
- The lossless XML import and export makes it easy for you to move your content between WordPress blogs.
- New search engine privacy option allows you take you to indicate your blog shouldn’t ping or be indexed by search engines like Google.
- Pages can now be drafts, or private.
- Our admin has been refreshed to load faster and be more visually consistent.
- The upload manager lets you easily manage all your uploads pictures, video, and audio.
Much respect to the developers of Wordpress to another great release.
There’s some cool ideas in the pipeline, which I’m stoked to see come to fruition.
